At The Retina Eye Center, we provide services that range from retinal diagnostic and laser treatment to retinal microsurgery. Continuous professional care for each patient is assured through our team of physicians and technicians who will work closely with your referring doctor.
We recognize that evaluation and treatment are only the first steps on the road to recovery. Your active participation and cooperation is also important in achieving long-term, positive results. We will provide the information you need to participate in your treatment program.
Why do I need a retina specialist?
An Ophthalmologist is a Physician (MD) trained to provide diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. A Retinal Specialist (Vitreoretinal Surgeon) has completed an additional 2 years of advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of the retina and vitreous.
The retina, macula and vitreous are subject to a number of disorders that may require care by a retinal specialist. Your primary Ophthalmologist, Optometrist, or Primary Care Physician may refer you to our office for a consultation. This includes a review of your medical history and current problem. Please bring all pertinent medical records for the physicians to review. It is also important to bring a detailed list of all medications and allergies. How do I schedule an appointment?
The Augusta office is open from 7:30 am-5:30 pm Monday through Friday. The Aiken office is open Tuesday and Friday from 8:00 am through 5:30 pm. Typically, the physician referring you to the practice will call or fax over a referral for your appointment. Our staff will set up the appointment and contact you.
Circumstances may require you to change or cancel an appointment. We ask you to extend the courtesy of reasonable notice (at least 24 hours) so that another patient in need of our attention may be seen.
